To celebrate his 70th birthday in a truly unforgettable way, Captain Beany took on a 15,000-foot skydive in support of the charity Together for Short Lives. Determined to mark the milestone with something meaningful, he used the challenge to raise awareness and funds for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

With the support of friends, supporters and the wider community, Captain Beany successfully raised £500 for the charity. The daring skydive perfectly reflected his adventurous spirit and ongoing commitment to fundraising, proving that age is no barrier when it comes to supporting good causes and making a difference.

Captain Beany brought energy, humour and a touch of Formula 1 flair to the Bideford Soapbox Derby 2024 as part of the F1-themed team entry. Known for his passion for community fundraising and entertaining the crowd, Captain Beany fully embraced the spirit of the event, combining creativity, fun and charitable purpose.

The team’s Formula 1 inspired soapbox design and racing outfits added to the spectacle on the day, drawing cheers and smiles from spectators lining the course. Beyond the entertainment, Captain Beany’s involvement helped raise vital funds for charity, showing once again how community events like the Bideford Soapbox Derby can bring people together while supporting great causes.

On Friday 18th November the captain attended the ChemoHero Ball. Captain Beany’s world 🌎 record setting helmet sold in auction for £50.

The Captain took his fundraising adventures to North Devon for Bideford Soapbox Derby 18th June 2023.

He was apart of the Peak Online team which helped to raise £5186.56. for ChemoHero, which supports people going through Chemotherapy.

In the process the Captain set 2 new world records, the fastest downhill bath filled with 30 litres of Branston baked beans. Driven by Dan Leonard and Captain Beany going backwards. The other record is the fastest plate of beans in a bath.

In late 2021, I had contrived my very own Captain Beany 2022 Calendar which was one rip roaring success and we secured a whopping £1,000 for Margam YC Stags Inclusion Football basedin Port Talbot!

I was amazed to find in the very same yearthat I was honoured with the ‘CITIZENS AWARD 2019 (Contribution to Charity) on behalf of Neath Port Talbot at the Orangery, Port Talbot. Consequently, I was pictured with Sean Holley BBC Rugby Broadcaster, and Connie Fisher British actress, singer and TV presenter and represenative of Trade Centre Wales. What an honour indeed!
